Local Partners
We work with local recycling a reuse programs to ensure reusable household items are kept in the community and out of the landfill.
Glass recycling
Glass Half Full recycles glass “waste” into sand and gravel to restore eroding Louisiana coasts, to create new glass, and so much more!
Books and media donation
Friends of the New Orleans Public Library Store at 5120 St. Charles Avenue accepts donations of new or gently used books, CDs and vinyl records.
Please bring your books donations to the Carriage House, located behind Latter Library during our book sale hours:
Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Building materials donation
The Green Project Salvage Store, located between St. Roch and the Bywater diverts around 2 million pounds from the landfill each year. Items are resold at roughly 30-50% of retail value, providing affordable building materials to our community.
Donations of usable building materials are accepted via drop-off at The Green Project from 11am-4pm, Wednesday to Saturday.
Clothing and toiletries donations
The Fred Hampton Free Store, at 5523 Saint Claude Ave in the Lower 9th Ward, runs a free thrift store with food, clothing, toiletries and medicines, books and menstrual products.
Furniture and household items donations
The Bridge House through its thrift stores is able to use most things you find in a home… clothing, kitchen items, decorative and household miscellaneous items, gently used furniture.
All donations are tax deductible and support addiction treatment for hundreds in our community.
